GIFFORDS | Gun Violence Survivors

Client: GIFFORDS

Director/Editor: Elnatan Mulugeta

Cinematographer: Imani Chacha

Producer: Joseph Green

The GIFFORDS Engagement Team presented a groundbreaking two-part training for gun violence survivors, redefining "survivor" to encompass a spectrum of experiences. The training delves into the essence of survival through semi-structured group conversations and intimate one-on-one interviews. Anchored by esteemed figures like Sandy and Lonnie Phillips, who lost their daughter in the 2012 Aurora movie theater shooting, attendees are guided by their expertise as advocates for legislative change. Together, they explore the multifaceted question: What does it truly mean to be a survivor?
